Please help support the future of medical research.

On Wednesday 9 September, QIMR Berghofer is joining forces with more than 30 institutes across the country to support the future of Australian medical research.
Join a national moment for medical research and enable the next generation of lifesaving discoveries.
Behind every discovery is a team of researchers working together to transform great ideas into lifesaving treatments. And every research team is made possible by supporters like you.
Without you, our medical research simply wouldn’t happen.
This Giving Day, we’re raising money for the researchers driving the next generation of medical discovery.
Early and mid-career researchers are the future of medical research, but they're also the ones most affected by the growing uncertainty of research funding.
Many spend months applying for grants instead of doing the research they trained to do, and too often talented researchers leave the sector simply because funding runs out.
Every $50,000 raised this Giving Day will fund an Early-Career or Mid-Career Researcher grant at QIMR Berghofer.
The more we raise, the more researchers we can support, and the more discoveries we can make together.

Every $50,000 raised this Giving Day will fund a QIMR Berghofer researcher.
Last year, brain cancer researcher Dr Chandra Choudhury received a $50,000 grant that enabled her to continue her research into glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
"Without the funding I would not be working at QIMR Berghofer. The grant quite literally kept me in research and allowed me to continue working toward improving brain cancer patient outcomes. It makes me very emotional, as I simply wouldn't have this job otherwise, and I'm incredibly grateful."
Your donation helps retain talented scientists, accelerates medical discoveries, and gives hope to the patients and families who are counting on breakthroughs.
Every day, our researchers work to better understand, prevent, diagnose and treat some of the most complex and deadly diseases, so that more Australians can live better quality lives.
But achieving that mission takes more than scientific expertise. It takes collaboration. It takes investment. It takes generous and forward-thinking people like you, who believe that research has the power to change lives.
Your donation is more important than ever. It gives researchers the chance to stay in the lab, keep important projects moving forward and spend more time focused on finding answers.
Developing innovative treatments including immunotherapies and targeted treatments, and diagnostic tools to improve survival rates and enhance quality of life for cancer patients.

Advancing vaccines and treatments for diseases caused by viruses, mosquito-borne and parasitic infections, to provide durable immunity in affected areas.

Conducting research into neurological conditions like Parkinson’s and dementia, and psychiatric disorders to develop effective interventions, develop new treatments, and discover how to prevent these conditions.

Tackling major public health challenges, including chronic diseases like diabetes and asthma, and health disparities nationally and globally, to create healthier communities for all.
